🎉 W E E K E N D 🎉 - Tomorrow will be my first full day off in 26 days and so in keeping with this week's theme of 'lists' I have put together a running tally of the last month (which will be of interest to precisely nobody but myself). In the last 26 days I have: taught 56 yoga classes; woken up before 6.30am 18 times and on all other days woken up before 7.00am (which if you know me, is the biggest shock of all); secured my very own regular timetable slots at the incredible   @floyogastudio     @shamantreeyoga   and   @londonfieldsfitness   ; begun teaching at the gorgeous   @fly  _ldn and   @goodvibesstudios   ; drunk 29 filter coffees from Pret, of which EIGHT were free (yes I counted); FINALLY mastered my jump-back from crow; taken part in my first yogi photoshoot. But, my proudest moment to date, through all that busy-ness and tiredness, is that I have had only ONE panic attack! Not bad for the girl who used to arrive late to work because she was checking the plugs were off. To celebrate, I have set my alarm for 9am and plan to press snooze at least twice. If anyone needs me, I'll be under my duvet 😴 - P.S dont worry I can't stay away too long. Good luck Vincent ! We wish you all the best on the start of this new journey. Vincent is headed to the University of Tampa to play hockey for the Tampa Spartans. For the last 3 months this young man has been a regular at the studio. Taking class everyday, sometimes twice a day in preparation for his inaugural collegiate career. You will shine wherever you go....see you when you’re on break ! Til then, we will miss you !

Marjariasana & Bitiliasana 🐱💮🐐 Marjariasana, la posizione del gatto, e Bitilasana, la posizione della mucca, molto spesso sono associate in una breve sequenza molto utile per sollecitare e distendere i muscoli della schiena e del collo e per preparare tutto il corpo alla pratica Yoga. . . Posizionati in quadrupedia, appoggiando sul tappetino le mani e le ginocchia, con i polsi esattamente sotto le spalle e le ginocchia poste sotto le anche. Direziona le dita delle mani in avanti, verso la sommità del tappetino, e mantieni la testa in una posizione neutrale, rilassando tutti i muscoli non necessari. Inizia eseguendo la posizione della Mucca: inspira e spingi la pancia verso il tappetino, mentre contemporaneamente sollevi il mento e apri il petto. Rivolgi lo sguardo in alto verso il soffitto, inarcando la schiena verso il basso. Avvicina tra loro le scapole e abbassa le spalle allontanandole dalle orecchie. Poi passa alla posizione del Gatto: espira, inarca la schiena verso l’alto e ritira la pancia. Rivolgi la testa verso il pavimento, dolcemente, senza forzare il mento verso il petto e rilassa i muscoli del collo. Inspira e torna alla posizione della Mucca. Poi espira nuovamente e ripeti la posizione del Gatto. Ripeti questa sequenza, sempre associata ai cicli della tua  respirazione, da un minimo di 5 volte, proseguendo a seconda delle tue capacità e necessità. Alla fine, siediti indietro sui talloni in Vajrasana o in Balasana e riposati per circa un minuto. . . Fluisci tra una posizione e l'altra e fai in modo che sia il respiro a guidare il movimento. Respira lentamente e profondamente e mentre transiti nelle posizioni lascia andare ogni tensione, permettendo alla tua schiena di sciogliersi e liberarsi. Continua a fluire senza interrompere il movimento, come in una danza oltre lo spazio e il tempo. I can. I will. End of story. ✌🏻 — There are sooo many positive affirmations, yoga quotes, and all sorts of stuff that you can read to make you feel more empowered. 💪🏻 ⠀⠀ But when you set your mind to it, there’s nothing you can’t accomplish. What more is there to say? 💫 ⠀⠀ This week for me was one of those weeks where all the things kind of came together: ⠀⠀ 1️⃣ leading 2 pitches for my agency with more down the line (did you guys know I work full time in NYC?) ⠀⠀ 2️⃣ teaching private clients yoga 2x this week waking up at 5:30am to develop sequences and playlists 👯‍♀️ 3️⃣ shooting for a brand I've loved for years on the fly for a paid campaign post vino and sushi with one of my girlfriends. And maaaaybe getting a little special treatment from the sushi chefs ;) 🍣 ⠀⠀ So needless to say, it's been A WEEK. A week when all the little bits I've slowly worked towards/created have come together. But when there's opportunity you don't shy away from it. ⠀⠀ You embrace the F out of it and nail it. And then make sure you get sleep on the weekend. End of story. 😉

Der Kopfstand gilt als die Königs-Asana schlechthin, und ihr werden unzählige positive Wirkungen für Körper und Geist nachgesagt. Als eine intensive Umkehrhaltung führt der Kopftsand u.a. dazu, dass unser Blut stärker zum Herzen strömt, die Herzleistung verbessert und die Wirbelsäule entlastet wird. Dabei erfordert diese Asana ein sehr hohes Maß an Stabilität, Kontrolle und Kraft, weshalb sie meist eher von erfahreneren Yogis geübt wird. Wichtig ist, dass man mit der Kraft des Rumpfes in den Kopfstand kontrolliert hinein und wieder hinauskommt. Bei uns im Studio gibt es zum Üben als Vorstufe auch die Kopftstand-Hocker!
