Hi! This picture says it all. I am an introvert or if I would use the Meyers-Briggs terminoligy, I am an INFP - introverted, intuitive, feeling, perciving. I get energy from being alone, I focus on ideas or concepts and not on details, I make decisons based on feelings and values and I love to be flexible much more than needing to do what was planned. All sounds fine and good, only I was raised that it is polite to be social, that you have to talk and be like people to fit in, that decisions have to be logic and that feelings are not facts (when in fact they are, because why would I have them if they weren‘t true), that in order to achieve something I would I have to be precise and care for the details and to be successful I have to stay on track and stick with the plan. Funny what societal progamming teaches us against our personalities and how long it takes us to snap out if it and unprogram and come back to normal. Meditation, breath, movement are all part of my re-programming process. Hair down? Or hair up? I honestly prefer my hair down. Always. But it’s soooo long (up to my bum) and I tend to stomp and trample all over myself while practicing. So I use a little clip to keep it up. But my buns are anything short of cute and messy 😂. It’s like a beehive that can house an entire ecosystem. But I love it. I’ve learned to appreciate my own big hair. I remember hating it for so long because I always felt like I needed to straighten it in order for it to look nice. Now I embrace the wild mane and my inner lioness🦁 . Funny story : I was pretty young and I remember being at the hair salon and asking my mom if I could pleaseeee dye my hair. I wanted those highlights that everyone was getting back then 😂. She make a quick snappy remark and it went “what!! You lost your damn mind. You’re not looking like those dumbasses and ruining your beautiful hair. Yeah right! No.” - Needless to say I never asked again. And I’m glad I never ruined my hair. I see so many people constantly dying their hair and knew someone who completely fried it a few times and I couldn’t imagine the horror 😂😂. I’d die. - Moral of the story : embrace your own beauty and what it means to you. Claire: has her shit together everyone else: yikes me: YIKES Dude, holy shit. I helped lead a yoga teacher training. There are 14 certified teachers that I got to watch explore and grow and cry and laugh. The people in this picture (Roman included 😂) trusted me enough to bring me into this process, and I don’t think I’ll ever be able to fully express my gratitude to them. Standing on the other side of the room, watching everyone graduate as a trainer instead of a fellow trainee, was absolutely surreal. I LOVE teaching yoga, I LOVE this studio, and in this last month I learned that I LOVE seeing a group of people fall in love with those things in real time. I’m so excited to continue contributing to YTT and seeing even more people become these amazing, fulfilled versions of themselves. ALSO, fall training starts October 11th. Любите ли вы соревнования так, как люблю их я?😁 Сколько себя помню, рвалась участвовать во всяких соревнованиях и конкурсах, если, конечно, область — из раздела моих интересов. В школе это были олимпиады по математике и английскому 👩🏻‍🎓 В университете и после — танцевальные конкурсы 💃🏻 Это сладкое, будоражащее чувство победы и гордости! Гордости за то, что преодолела свои страхи и комплексы, за то, что не позволила моей лени одержать верх над моим вдохновением. Speaking of headstand variations, I've been critiqued to be putting up much of headstands and handstands, well quite frankly, every post is something new to speak about. VARIATIONS, yes. We tend to see the superficiality of what the headstand is but what we miss is the fact that on a micro level, even a single variation makes it twice the effort. . . Why add variations? Well, as for a beginner variations might not be of much relevance when it comes to your initial phase of training career because here you've to stick to the conventions of letting your body adapt to load, fatigue, repetitions and progressions. This is what you carry forward in order to create a muscle memory. But what happens over time is we start hitting plateaus which seizes the impact of the training load to be a visible change since the body is already much accustomed to the program. . There are many grounds on which you decide if you're plateauing your training. Say, you could be hitting your weekly split every single day and yet not feeling the burn or your body hasn't been showing any change down the line for the past months. Now to break the plateaus, we must add variations which could be in terms of the load, intensity, frequency, diet(you heard me), tempo etc. . A change in training plan basis periodization with variations in your sets, reps, the duration of the split (which is further classified basis intensity and cadence). . Bringing variations to the splits helps challenge the functional threshold, perhaps improve the performance basis endurance, agility, strength or even a neuromuscular blockade, if any. . . Headstands was a little example of a macro aspect of importance of variations in your training program over 8-10 weeks. Sticking to conventions as a foundational principle of exercise however is essential. . You can't runaway from practicing your complexes. 😉 . .   #headstands
