Speaking of thoughts.... what do you think about when you lift? Is your mind wandering? Are you thinking about your next exercise? Or maybe you’re concerned with the people around you? WRONG! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Your mind must be in the game just as much as your body. Before I take off for my deadlift I think about my lats, my scapula, and my glutes . I focus on the tempo of my concentric movement, squeezing the glutes and scapula at the top, and controlling the eccentric portion. Same with the squat. Don’t only visualize the glutes working at the top of the movement. You must recruit them the WHOLE time. From the moment you reach your desired depth at the bottom you want to explode back up with purpose! Bracing your core like a superhero shield the whole time👊🏼💪🏼🔥
I’ve had days where mid set I tell myself how hard it is or think about fear and pain and mannn did it mess everything up. FORGET THAT NONSENSE! Your mind is so powerful. Focus on the task at hand and you will be amazed by the improvements in your muscle awareness, strength, and movement patterns. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
